Read MoreThe Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Stream is designed for skilled workers who already hold a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa or the former Subclass 457 visa and have worked for their sponsoring Australian employer for at least two years. This stream allows eligible applicants to transition from temporary residence to permanent residency through the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa (Subclass 186).
To be eligible for the TRT Stream, applicants must have held a Subclass 457 or TSS visa and worked full-time for their nominating employer for at least two years in the same occupation. They must also meet age requirements (usually under 45 years), demonstrate competent English language skills, and satisfy health and character requirements. In most cases, a formal skills assessment is not required under this stream.
