The Student Guardian Visa Subclass 590 allows a parent, legal guardian,
or eligible relative to stay in Australia to provide care and support
to an international student under 18 years of age studying on a
Student Visa (Subclass 500).
This visa ensures that appropriate welfare arrangements are maintained
while the student completes their education in Australia. Guardians must
meet financial capacity requirements, maintain health insurance, and
satisfy health and character checks. The primary purpose of this visa
is to provide care — not employment or study — during the student’s stay.

Yes. Student Guardian visa holders can study in Australia for up to 3 months. Courses longer than 3 months require a separate student visa.
Applicants must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover living expenses, accommodation, and return travel costs for both themselves and the student during their stay in Australia.
