The Aged Parent Visa Subclass 804 allows older parents who are already
in Australia to apply for permanent residency.
This visa is available to applicants who meet the age requirement for

Subclass 804 provides permanent residency benefits including Medicare,
work rights, and long-term settlement opportunities. However, due to
high demand and limited annual visa allocations, processing times are
significantly long under the capped parent visa program.

Yes. Applicants are usually granted a Bridging Visa after lodging a valid application, allowing them to remain lawfully in Australia while the visa is being processed.
Subclass 804 has a lower visa application charge compared to contributory parent visas. Applicants may also need to provide an Assurance of Support and meet additional expenses such as health examinations and police checks.
Once granted, Subclass 804 provides permanent residency, work and study rights, access to Medicare, and the ability to apply for Australian citizenship if eligibility criteria are met.
